Ramón Luciano Capellán

Ramón Luciano Capellán is a first-generation Dominican scholar of race and a Ph.D. student in the Department of Romance languages at the University of Georgia. He is the recipient of the Graduate School Research Assistantship. His career goals are focused in academic and scholarly production particularly in themes related to race. As a critical race scholar, he seeks to produce scholarship and research establishing links between racial configurations in the Dominican Republic and its diaspora. His interests are interdisciplinary, including Latinx Studies, Dominican Studies, contemporary Latin American literature, cultural studies, cultural production, performance, and literature in New York and the Caribbean region. He serves in the Latina/o Studies Section of the Latin American Studies Association.
