Master's Student, Hispanic Linguistics
Teaching Assistant of Spanish

Isabelle Leimkuhler is a master's student in Hispanic Linguistics in the Department of Romance Languages at the University of Georgia. Her research interests include hispanic linguistics, applied linguistics, second language acquisition, language pedagogy, language variation, comparative linguistics, psycholinguistics, phonetics & phonology. 

Isabelle presented her undergraduate research project "Variación fonémica de los sonidos [s] y [z] en hablantes L1 y L2 de inglés y español" at the Ohio Latin Americanist Conference (2023) and for the Institute for the Empirical Study of Language (2022). She studied abroad in Summer 2022 in Toledo, Spain and attended La Universidad de Castilla-La Mancha - Toledo Campus for the Español en Toledo program. She is excited to follow her passion for Spanish language learning and teaching while continuing her studies in Spanish at UGA!

B.A. Spanish, B.A. Linguistics, B.A. Music, Certificate for Latin American Studies, Certificate for the Empirical Study of Language & Preservice Teacher Preparation in TEFL at Ohio University (2023).
