Dr. Betina Kaplan Betina is the Administrative Coordinator and founder of the UGA en Buenos Aires program. A native of Buenos Aires, she is a currently the Associate Head of the Department of Romance Languages at UGA and the Director of UGA en Buenos Aires Fall 2025. Dr. Jorge Garcia-Granados Jorge is part of the leadership team for the Fall 2025 program. He is originally from Peru and is a Lecturer of Spanish in the department of Romance Languages at UGA. Kerry Steinberg Kerry is a Lecturer of Spanish in the Department of Romance Languages, where she also serves as the Preceptor for SPAN 1110. She teaches courses including accelerated elementary Spanish (SPAN 1110/1110E), SPAN 2001 (Intermediate Spanish I), and SPAN 4090S (Practicum in Service Learning). Kerry has been recognized with the 2025 Service-Learning Teaching Excellence Award, for her work immersing students in local Latinx communities and facilitating service-learning study abroad experiences. Marcela Garbagnati A resident of Buenos Aires, Marcela is the Local Coordinator and an integral part of our program. She has been with UGABA since the program began. She works with us to organize activities, excursions, host family experiences and internships for the students.
