Dr. Catherine M. Jones received her Ph.D. at the University of Wisconsin. She is the author of The Noble Merchant: Problems of Genre and Lineage in Hervis de Mes (North Carolina, 1993), Philippe de Vigneulles and the Art of Prose Translation (Boydell & Brewer, 2008), and An Introduction to the "Chansons de Geste" (University Press of Florida, 2014). She is the co-translator of An Old French Trilogy: Texts from the William of Orange Cycle (University Press of Florida, 2020) and Huon of Bordeaux (Italica Press, 2021). Other publications include articles on the Old French Epic, romance, allegory, nineteenth and twentieth century medievalism, Orientalism, and medieval French literature and law. Dr. Jones is a Josiah Meigs Distinguished Teaching Professor and a Chevalier dans l'Ordre des Palmes académiques.
