PhD Student, Hispanic Linguistics, Teaching Assistant of Spanish

 My name is Flor Adams and I am originally from North Carolina where I completed my Master's in Spanish, focusing on sociolinguistics, at UNC Charlotte. I am a PhD student here at UGA in Hispanic Linguistics and am also completing the graduate certificates in Women's Studies and Interdisciplinary Qualitative Studies. Currently, I teach SPAN 1001/1002/1110.

My research interests include: Post-structuralism/Post-humanism and Queer theory, Discourse Analysis, Raciolinguistics, sociopragmatics, specifically analyzing Transgender and Queer representation in social media and public discourse. 

 

Education:

- M.A. in Spanish, University of North Carolina at Charlotte (2020-2022)
- B.A. in Spanish with a concentration in k12 education, University of North Carolina at Pembroke (2018-2020)
