Jorge García-Granados, Lecturer of Spanish, has been awarded the American Philosophical Society's Franklin Research Grant for his project "Andean Baroque on Stage." He will conduct primary-source research on Quechua-language theater of the colonial era at the British Library in London this summer.

This prestigious grant was awarded through an international competition, where García-Granados's proposal competed with scholars from around the world at all career stages. García-Granados prepared his proposal during last spring's pilot session of the Special Grant Seekers' Edition of the Felson Writing Retreat, which will meet again on March 12, 2025.
